FORD Guys Date these hubcaps - Please
I came across these yesterday and they were still in the original NOS boxes. Can someone help me date these and also any thoughts on what they might be worth? they are mint with exception of one cap has a tiny little dent in the bullet center. I plan on throwing them out on ebay
Thanks ! |

1956 it is! I have a set like those somewhere...maybe out in the barn.

As far as I know...they are not ford truck caps. I have the 56 ford truck caps on mine (aftermarket).
I would imagine they are off of some car model (like redlighnening suggested). |

I'm reasonably sure that the "B7A" prefix designates that these were first used on a 1957 (B7 = 1957) (A = Full-sized passenger car.)
That is ... provided there was no renumbering of the part from a previous model year. KULTULZ, PMeisel ... some of the "bit older than me" ex-Ford Partsmen might be able to shed a little more light on this. I was BORN in 1957, and started in Ford parts late in 1978 ... so this is a little "before my time". (Boy it feels good to say that!) |

maybe 56---
57,58,59 for sure--------------passenger cars Altho if Ford made little changes, I have not noticed them. Cool find anyway Kinda like the 58-62 Vette and 58-60 Chev----tiny little change they made somwhere in the middle. I would never noticed had someone not brought it to my attention.----Weird. Bryan |

Those are 1957, possibly carried to 1958 (I would have to research that).
Below is the 1956 hub cap- |

I remember those from a friend's dad's 59 Ford. Those part numbers come up on Google and Ebay as 57 Thunderbird 14" wheel disc numbers. Maybe these hub caps were in the wrong wrapping.
As for what they are worth - maybe $20.00 - unless you get two guys that really want them. Not many restorers want the hub caps, they look for the wheel discs. You might try advertising to the "rat rod" crowd who are looking for something different to run. |
