ford heater control and its basic functions
 

Ive been here before and still working on the Sunbeam Tiger...since the engine compartment was totally burned...all hoses were likewise...I have a very basic question for anyone familiar with ford 289 hose routings...I will reinstall the heater hoses but changing the heater control valve to a smaller and more functional valve and rerouting the hoses to "hidaway " them thru my fender wells...Here is the question...does the very smallest hose ( bypass hose) serve as a continuing and return path for the coolant if the heater control valve is closed???..I am a painter by trade...can tell you all you need to know about paint but lack in basic mechanics..LOL...I am , however , determined to rebuild this car...I just lack a few key things...would appreciate any advice from you who have been there and done that!!! thanks
