Ford Lightning engine swap

I have obtained a Ford Lightning engine and trans, 1999. I am wanting to swap it into my 1998 Expedition with a 4.6L engine. My question is would this be a direct swap with the motor mounts matching up etc. Any suggestions would be greatly apprectiated thank you.

5.4 to 4.6 swap

The 5.4 modular motor and 4.6 modular motor are virtually the same. The 5.4 has a taller deck height. The modular motors are built like other small block fords. For example, a 351W is just a 302 with a taller deck. Which means that the intake manifold will not interchange. But back to the 5.4 and 4.6. They use the same tranny and same motor mounts. You can even swap heads back and forth. But the intake should be different. All of the wiring harness in your Expedition will be different though.
