ford racing 8.8 LSD
I am just wundering if ther is any difference is the "ford racing 8.8's and the one htat come out of the exploder's and mountaineer's?? VISUALLY OR mechanically??
I just bought one that was advertized as a ford racing trac-lok, but it looks exactly like the ones out of a mountaineer or ranger. Is there any way to know of its a true ford racing unit, or just a reman that I got jipped on. Shouls it say ford racing on it or a special PN#.... The one I got just says Ford, E7TW-FA.... Is there any diff between the 2 if thier built with the same components????

Ford sells a stock unit in their racing parts catalog, with a different number but I believe they are they same part. The newer ones have carbon clutches which I dont think were used in production vehicles until 2003??? or so.
