Ford Ranger seat back adjuster

I just bought a '98 Ford Ranger extended cab, with the bucket seats from the local Ford dealer. I noticed the passanger seat back adjuster handle is broke and asked the dealer to fix it, as it makes entering the rear back jump seat impossible.. he can't figure out how it comes out, because someone snapped the whole shaft off almost flush with the outside of the seat, instead of just breaking the handle. so it has to come apart enough to at least replace that shaft..

anyone know what has to be done to fix this? dealer may just swap a set of '98 Explorer buckets in it and call it good, but if he doesn't have a good set. then he's going to fix it. he has a '98 standard cab Ranger in his parts lot that could probably lend the correct parts
