rearend swap

Ford only had 2 rear end widths for cars in that era 53 1/2 and 57 inch or something really close to that. big difference in width, as for rancheros from the 60s to 1970 they were not a full size car and were based off the falcon platform until 1967 when they were introduced to the torino chassis but still uni body until 69 or later not sure on that date exactly as far as rear end swaps granada makverick mustang versiles monarch and comet were direct swaps with the exception of shock placement do to the stagerd shock set up on some cars as you're 6cyl rear end (unless it is a 8 inch) takes smaller mounting hardware, this depended on which 6 you had if it was the 200 it should allready have an 8inch which then all you need is the outer hardware(brakes,5lug drums) and 5 lug axels as they all were 28 spline in the 8 inches for those cars well good luck with you're ranchero I will be posting pics of my 2 falcons soon hopefully I have a tudor sedan and a 64 1/2 futura I'm building and have had the tudor for 28years
