ford steering colums

Have a steering colum app. 40 inches long out of 1989 lincoln. I require a colum 28 inches long. Do all Ford colums take the same plug ins as a lincoln or are they different? I am trying to install a wiring harness from the 89 lincoln into a 1959 F100 Ford.

The plugs might be the same, but I"m not sure the color code on the wires are. Ford does like to mix things up once in awhile. I do have the color code for a 87 Ford T-Bird. But I'm not sure about the rest.

All older GM's are the same.

I know this didn't help but you will have to check the wires before you know. There are a couple guys on here that might know, this will get you started.
