Post ford t-5 for chevy?

is the ford t-5 the same as a chevy t-5? Could you just change the bell housing and be hooked up? How much HP can these tranny's handle in stock form and what do you need to upgrade it?
Thanks,
scott

Question

It is not a dumb question, it's just that no one seems to know the answer. I surely don't.

I would think that in addition to the bellhousing, that there may be differences in input shaft length/diamater (pilot bushing difference) and input/output spline count differences, requiring a unique clutch disc, etc.

A WARNER overhaul manual is only twenty dollars I believe and the answer might be in there or talk directly with a T-5 specialist.

ll the things KULTULZ said is accurate, they are different. I think it can be adapted though, the case pattern is the same it's the input shaft where they differ.
