will a 3 speed trans from a 56 pick-up bolt to a 54 2 ton y-block bell housing this is all ford stuff

As i remember the truck trans bolt pattern is alot bigger than the 3 speed pickup the 3 speeds from 1/2 tons usually were the car patern you need the belhousing to match the trans. some bigger trucks also used a larger clutch
