Ford V8 motor mount question

I few days ago a guy told me that by using Camaro motor mounts and putting them on the opposite sides any Ford engine will fit in any Ford chassis. Not being a Ford man I didnt call bs, but it sure sounds like it to me.

What is the true story?

ford to ford.

You can switch Ford FE motor mounts and bolt in a Y block etc. ford and gm are totally different.

It's BS. A Camaro has only come with half a dozen different engines thru the years. inline 6, SBC, LT1, 60* V6, LS1 and now the newer generations have a new V6 and LS based V8 engines.. Every variation and generation change will have a different mount.

If he had said that GM mounts can often be flipped to mount other motors just like some Ford mounts can, then it would be accurate and believable
