Well I think everyone here knows I dont follow ford at all, but what kind of a system does ford have like HEI, and when did it come into use? Or do they even have one.
Not just losing the points, but a real High energy system, 30,000-40,000 volts? Like GM's HEI system.
1973 Duraspark systems. Theys are best retro fit systems for non computer engines.
1982 was the begining of TFI (Thick Film Ignition) 84 and later for most popular V8 engines (EEC IV - only to be used with fuel injected engines) There are exceptions with a few of the early model TFI. The E coil used with these will put out about 60K volts.
I have only one thing to say....... B*TCH'N!
looks like a GM HEI drop in replacement.
