Ford Voltage regulator hookup

Stupid Question, but nobody seems to know locally. I have a 300 ford six, stock alternator, and need to hook up a voltage regulator to charge the battery, There are no wires at all, except starter solenoid circuit..

So what wire goes where, from the four terminals on the stock voltage regulator?.. Thanks..

ASSUMING that we are talking about the very common Ford external regulator (1980 F150 for example) ... that looks like this:





Wiring color codes may vary ... but the terminal layout is the same (same regulator)
