Ford wont start please help.

A few day's ago my brother's 1986 Ford F150 pickup just quit running. It has a 300 inline-6 with the module on the distributor, and while makeing an attempt to figure this thing out we found that the thing was getting gas and spark, so we decided to change the module and got the same resalt, then we did the plug's and wire's but still the same gas and spark but wont start.

Thanx for your responce, Yea we checked for gas by peekin down through the carb plus there was a strong presence of the gas, and i puuled out the #1 spark plug and laid it up on the valve cover along with the wire and you could see a spark jump the electrode witch did seam somewhate weak so i took a screw driver and placed it in the wire and then sat it next to something wich gave a stronger spark. I know that the distributor gear pin did'nt sheer off because we spun the engine over with the cap off and the rotor was turning just fine, and this engine has a factory gear drive setup so it did'nt jump time.

If the pickup in the distrib is black or dark brown it is likely shot, it is a curved piece of rubber and when new is actually white. If the pickup is shot you will still get spark but no start.

Check it out.

Hope this helps

You have Spark and you have Gas????
Do you have Compression ????
Buy an HEI tester at canadian tire and check for spark, the screw driver method doesn't always work
