Haven't worked on y blocks in a few years, and only know of a couple of guys racing them and 1 runs iron heads, the other Mummert's aluminum. That's a lot of money for just a few HP and an extra jump in rpm!!!!! Unless you are laying out the bucks for the Cam, Pistons, Rods, Crank, Balancing ,Etc,Etc to use the heads to their potential! Then they would be a good choice!! But if your basically building a street engine for street performance I would think twice. They are pretty though!! Lets see a pic of that 292 What cam and induction you planning?
