four link spinning tires
I have a 70 camaro pro street with a 4 link rear suspension. I took it to the track for the first time lastr weekend. I am running a 12" wide M&H racemaster street slick. It spun the tires out of the hole about 30 to 40 feet. The car launched hard and straight. the only problem was tire spin.Can anyone tell a guy without a physics degree how to easily tune this suspension to stop tire spin. I dont think the engine is overpowered for the tires only around 600hp. 12" x 30" tire . I did not check tire pressure before launch

Besides shocks and 4 link adjustments that may be needed, what is the printing on the tire sidewall? I ask because I know of no true slicks that are street legal.
What pressure did you use, and what procedure did you use for a burnout?
what style of 4 link is in the car? is it parallel, triangulated or a true pro street set up? there are several sites that explain how to set up antisquat with a prostreet set up.

Look at it this way. the four bars are pushing the car, where those bars are pointed is your push point. In other words if the bottom bar was in the bottom hole, and the top bar was in the hole right above it, now run a straight line from each bar towards the front of the car, where those two lines cross, is your push point. When the push point is that low you would be pushing the car into the ground, or trying to push the car on it's nose. If you put the bars in the top holes, you would be trying to push the nose into the sky. If your bars are in the car right, where you set the bars is how your car will react in the front, The best way to find your push points, is draw a full scale frame on the floor, then by running a string to the front with the bars in different holes, you will find all the push points. That's what we did in the first drag car we had with four link, it was in Pro Stock class.
Where you push the car will cause your back tires to lift some, or push down some, what you have to find is where the car is happy.
Also when you change your bars, make sure you check your pinion angel, and that the bars are loose, just grab them and turn, if the heim joint wiggles you don't have any bind on the bars. It takes a lot of runs to know where you have to have your bars, and each track is different. But once you know how your car reacts, you can set them pretty fast.
