Frame Finish Ideas

I have a 1987 Chevy pick up fram and i was wondering what your ideas would be on finishing it off. I was thinking either powder coating or Rhino Lining the frame. What are some of your ideas and have you tried either of the 2 i have mentioned. The truck will be a street/show truck. I still want to go 4wheeling in it so i cant have something that will chip easily.

i would powder coat because it looks 10x better but if you just want something that wont damage then rino line. the powder coat can hold up to chips and such but if its going to drag rocks or anything of that sorts it will still scratch.

rino lining is ugly but its functional. i think you need to decide if you are more concerned with durability or looks.

paint is out of the question though if your going to put it through some abuse

i was leaning towards powder coating too. I dont plan to go over rocks to much so i think i will go with powder coating. I was just wondering what some of the communities thoughts were.

The next question is. The frame is currently covered with spray undercoating. Is there a way to remove that with ease?

To remove undercoating, ummm "the dip" only other choice would be sand blasting.

No easy way to remove undercoating tho I do lean toward a propane torch and scraping the residue..or it is off the the sanbblaster which is easier on you and not so easy on the checkbook..

I am leaning toward SPI epoxy primer and their bedliner product for those areas where I do need good durability and ease of repair..Powder coat we are finding has its place but in some cases is not all it is cracked up to be..
