a Frankenstein of a project 65 Chevy truck

Here's my plans for the project 65 aka project Frankenstein because it's going to be some ,protour and ratrod.

My name is Justin im from lenoir Cory TN. I have a 65 Chevy swb, step side, 350 truck
It's appearance would fool you as what it has going for it but the motor is from late Some Chevy with the Center bolt valve covers.it has a late model fuse box, brand new radiator with Electric fan.unlike most cars/trucks im owned this one isn't ran to a toggle switch/battery.it has a relay and temp sensors.has a oil cooler,Trans cooler.it's a real driver kinda truck
Some

Here's my plans for the truck.it's not a ratrod but has some things in common with one. IM going to fix all the rust and do it right.

Flat black the right way with a satin red top.red rims, lowered,All the rust repaired, wooden bed with chrome strips, gas tank relocated to rear frame with the gas cap out the inside bed.going to use something like the vetts had or air plane cap, going to lose the van seats for a tuck and roll bench seat or throw a Mexican blanket over a bench seat and do it like a ratrod. Do some pin stripes on the back tell gate after getting it smoothed out and a roll pan on the rear. Relocate the tail lights in the bed some how with leds. I'd like to make the exhaust exit from the sides on the humps on the bed.clean up the engine bay some. I'm still looking for a place that sells parts for the truck.I thought year one did but I was wrong sadly. I did however find classicindustrial.com and lmc. Im looking for a legit place that sells parts for a reasonable price.I'm going to have a lot more questions on this project.

Very popular body style.....short box, step side. Fix the rust issues and call Bruce Horkey for bed wood and strips.

It will be a good looking truck...

Jim Carter and LMC are both in the KC area and closer for shipping costs. Carter only charges actual cost for shipping. I've bought a number of things from them and the prices and service are great.

I too have a '65 SWB stepside. Most of the parts I have purchased "new" were from Classic Parts of America Classic Chevy Truck Parts of America - 1947 to 1998 Chevrolet and GMC Truck Parts

I have also used Golden State Parts Chevy/GMC Truck Parts at Golden State Parts and Brothers and Jim Carter... I avoid LMC, use them as the last resort.

My preference is good used OEM parts. Two fellas that I deal with are Tony at 4-5-6 trucks 1960 to 1966 Chevy Truck New and Used Parts, Restoration Projects and Rich at RJ Truck Parts - Used Chevy & GMC Truck Parts

Good luck to ya. Here's a link to my truck build thread. It might be helpful, I have done a few of the modifications your are talking about. Lakeroadsters' Build Thread: '65 SWB Step - Classic Parts Talk
