Fraud Among Buyers!!!!

All you sellers in the classified ads, beware of buyers who are "agents" for other people, wanting your name and address and phone number, they can get all your info with that little tidbit, and screw you and your credit... MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS LEGIT BEFORE ANYTHING IS PASSED OUT!!
thought you would like to know!!!!

Good call, as theres more scams out there now than theres ever been, Got a call yesterday from a scammer, he said that I mailed back the offer for a "extended warrenty" for my vehicle, and I told him I did no such thing, I wanted to see how far this guy would go so I played along. He kept asking me "What make and model? what year?" and I said "I'm not giving you that information, I want you to tell me what is my name and address as proof that I sent you back the offer as you claim" he would ramble off some excuses then say the same thing, what make and model and again I'd tell him I'm not giving you that information. Next he says "Well whos gonna fix your car when it breaks down? you a machanic?" and I said "As a matter of fact I am" He laughs and says "that a fact?" and I said "yeah, its also a fact your a scammer, you should take up a better occupation like stealing hub caps"
Needless to say he didnt wanna talk anymore.

Damn them... Because of those people, it is getting harder and harder for me to find a Model A to import

It is already hard getting some credibility when I say I am from the Netherlands and looking for a car in the states.

I don't understand???
Name, address and phone number are public record for
most people and easily obtainable.
If you google a phone number it gives you the name and address.

very true but with the internet and various websites that a person is supposed to be "licensed" to use, it takes a name phone number and address from anywhere and they have everything they need. its easier and safer to use things like paypal and get the protection for free.
