If you use any waterborne cleanser- dishwashing liquid is my personal choice- the cast iron will literally begin to rust before your very eyes. You have to start spraying the WD40 or ?? while the block is still damp.

You will rue the day you EVER got diesel fuel all over everything- do not use it! The smell is obnoxious and permeates everything- including your skin. And forget dishwasher soap. IMO it dissolves too slow/hard and is gritty.
