Friend saw $300 BOP and Cadillac starters?

I droved to a car show, I stopped for the gas. The starter may be the problem. My 500 cadillac with 9.3 compression, it was getting hotter. The starter had rest for 2 hours. The starter slowly with one circle and it start and I got in took for home.
There are GM starters for high compression for BOP. It is great 2.5 hp or more. I have a soleiod on the firewall to rotate the valves checks, etc. The soleiod sometimes trieds to keep run when the button, I hate it. I need a cut off switch badly. I have fight with the cables to disconnect. The must have a loss when I pull the ground. I cannot figure where the drawing on something.

If the solenoid is sticking- replace it!

You can use a starter like the Summit Racing P/N SUM-820323 . Or a Tilton, Powermaster, CSR Platinum, etc. Just get one for a 153 tooth Chevy- they're the same.

If you use a "normal" starter and not a "mini" high torque starter, it's always a good idea to use a starter brace to hold the starter rigidly to the block.

Thanks for information on the starters.

There are big blocks, BOP and cadillac up to 76. 168 flexplate or flywheel. I tried the mini starters, The start had grinding on the flexplate, I got some shims. But the shims did not work so I got the 76 cadillac with a 2 shims and it works fine, no grinding. The transmission was old so a friend built it. No slipping.
I still want buy a beefy starter, the GM Cadillac gets hot. And the 9.2 compression is a problem. GM have a selections starters for the old muscle bigblocks. It ranges of $250-$300, maybe some that you showed on the email.

Thanks Colbalt327
