Post front clip retrofit

preparing to retrofit a newer front clip onto an ancient body of some kind. Before spending any money, I am wondering where to start. Should I select the body first and try to find something that appears to be a good match or find the donor front clip first and then try to locate a body. Also, what are the considerations when doing the front clip graft. Also, would I be better off to find a donor car with a full frame and modify it to fit the body as opposed to just a front clip. Any information or recommendations appreciated.

I think you may be putting the horse before the cart LOL The first thing you have to do is decide what car /truck you want after that you decide if you even need a clip. Most rods now a days should not be clipped as there are to many good kits to make your car safe without butchering the frame.Decide on the car/truck first.Lots of diff ways to do it.
