Cool front coils springs (help)

hello need to no about lowering my 1950 f-1 ford truck have the 1978 carmao front clip makes the truck sit to hi its 12 inches off the ground like to go down to about 6 or 7 inches from the ground i was told to cut the spring now would that change the shock size too.. thank you for your time and have a great day Rick ..

As for me i would buy the dropped spindles. You can get down 3" with them. Then think about cutting or buying lower springs. You will reach a point in the drop where you will have to change your upper control arm (to a longer one) to keep it aligined. (Tire will tip in at the top. and is out of adjustment range.)You run out of camber . You can buy spindles that are reasonable and the replace springs are cheap. Of course i guy would want to change out the ball joints at the same time. Hope this is of some help to you.
