I just put a new sway bar in but it seems when my van is either stopping or starting some thing always cracks. Or thats what it sounds like. Its like a loud clunk. It also does that when I am stopped and I turn the wheels back and forth. Its going clunk clunk clunk. What can be wrong and could it be serious???Thanks Guys

check the calipar mounts , upper and lower ball joints or even the steering box. I have seen all of these make popping noise in the front end and all can be a danger to the driver as well as others.
The best thing to do if you are not a front end man is take it somewhere for a free inspection.

Sounds like a broken sway bar link bolt, you did replace them with the new bar right?!

If it's a ford, check the radial control arm bushings (the part that goes back from the axle and ties to the frame the bushing is on the frame end) If not, what kind of van is it? :)

Certain year FORD vans experienced cracked crossmembers.
