Front End Measurements

I hope someone has an answer to my question. I have a '47 caddy ambulance. One of the things I want to do is have power steering. In order to do this, I believe that I will have to replace the front end. So my question is this.... How do I measure the front end and what demensions are needed when asking for the right replacement pieces? Thanks!

Steering box

Look at your steering box if it is the recirculting ball type you may be able to swap in a power steering box from a late GM car..that is provided the existing front end is in good condition or can be made so..

if this is not an option check out some info on installing a frame clip from a late model..

Dimensions to look at are the track of the old front end..and campare that to the track of the front end of the clip you propose to use..

Hope this helps
I have tried most all of it and now do what is known to work..
