need to buy a kit to tilt my c10 p/u front end all
steel with good mark cowl hood.help help help please any info on someone or a articale that
can tell me all about it
my brother made one of own, he just took his front end and welded every thing, and bought a hydraulic pump and stuff to put on there. you might be able to find a steel tilt kit, but they do make fiberglass, and other materials.
im not very good with body work, "yet".
Different vehicles require different methods and designs to properly tilt the front end. Your truck will need a device that first moves the entire front end forward far enough for the lower fenders to miss contacting the body as they tilt and then a mechanism that will tilt the whole thing.
My 41 didn't require the forward movement so it was really simple to design a power tilt system. Unfortunately I doubt you'll find a commercially available kit for your application so if you do one you're going to have to engineer it yourself.
Also you don't need hydraulics. Ball's Rod & Custom sells 12-volt linear actuators that have enough power to easily tilt a steel front end. The nice thing is that if you design it correctly you don't need a latch mechanism because the actuator will hold it closed.
