front fender bracket

g'day all, i am a new member , i have been building a 28 essex pickup for to long now i am at the stage of mounting the front fenders my problem is i have widend the fenders by 2 inchs and the original bracket that holds the fender up off the wheel has to be widend to suit the fenders, lenghning it is not a problem but i would like to know how some of yous hide the bolts & or rivet's that hold the fender to the bracket i would like to hear & see how you guys have got around this problem, thanks all

Welcome to the site

Now I'm old and easily confused, but was it you or someone else that had a thread about this, a week ago. If not on my Terraplane the fender braces also hold the headlight buckets, which are pretty heavy. Therefore if you don't want the rivets, you could weld bolts to the underside of the fender, do a little at a time and let cool so you don't get waves in the fender. That would be the only way if they also support the headlight buckets. unless someone knows of another way, which i'm sure someone might.

welding bolts to the bottom of the fender, was what i was thinking also, as i was reading the post.
