Red face front hub question???

Me Again!
One more Question. The front aftermarket rims on my Gremlin isnt setting flat against the front Hub. My hubs have a recessed area in em that look like a pond. It also has a counterweight on em and wont let my rim lay flat, wich in turn makes my wheels wobble. Can I switch front hubs or has anyone ever had this problem? HG

I have had this exact same problem with a 1973 Javaline. The balance weight on the front drum, installed at the factory, would not allow my chrome wheels to fit flush up against the drum. The only solution was to air chisel the weight off the hub, then make sure you balance the tire and wheel before you install it. This is what I did and I have never had a problem.

If you have trouble after doing this the only solution I know of would be have the tire, wheel, and drum balanced together on a high speed on the car wheel balancer. These are getting hard to find because all the shops are going over to the computor balancer that only balances the wheel and tire.

Let us know what works for you!
