front seats

I am building a street rod and using a 29 model "A" 2 door sedan body. I want to install front bucket seats but most of the seats are to wide as the widest part of the inside body is 48" then narrowing down to 42" at the front. Does anyone have a suggestion as what to use or how to modify some seats in order to make them fit.

This seat is out of a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo. If you look at the right side of this seat bottom, it is straight, and the mate to it is straight on the left side. The seat is 21" wide, and if you put the straight sides in the middle, you would have a perfect fit that would look like it was designed for the car. Besides that, the Monte Carlo is a two door, so the seats tip forward. These seats are also power seats.

Thanks for the suggestion, do you know if 2003 was the only year the seats were made that way?

The sixth generation of the Monte Carlo was from 2000 to 2005, so my guess is that seats from all those years would work.
