Front Spindle swap

I have a 1949 Chevy 3100 pickup truck. I was going to use the front spindles from a 1954 Chevy 3100 pickup truck because they are a little beefier. I have two part trucks, a 1953 & a 1954. I am pretty sure the '53 and '54 spindles are the same. When I took the '54 spindles off the axle, the drivers side spindle had a groove at both the inner and outer bearing area. The passenger side looked good. The '53 had the same grooves on the drivers side and the passenger side looked good. Does anybody know if the passenger side spindle is different than the drivers side spindle?
Thanks in advance for all answers.

Found my own answer

I found my own answer. Check this link for part numbers. (I am sure you older members already know about it)

By digging around that site, I found out that the front suspension on my 1949 Oldsmobile has the same design as that of Chevrolet from 1939 - 1941, 1946 - 1948. (They don't have the '42s up). The '49 Chevy was different. I still have to check dimensions.

Curiously, rough measurement of the control arms, etc., are very close to my son's '85 Caprice, excluding the knee-action shocks. He is unwilling to donate his front end to the cause, so far.
