front suspension

im building my 68 chevelle for drag racing im having ladder bars in the back and about 850 hp small block i was wondering what the best front suspension would be that would lower the front down about 2 inches and still perform good it will also have some occasional street use like driving to school once a week and cruising on the weekends

if you are making that kind of ponies........... lower it with 2" drop spindles and upgrade the front brakes to a high quality disc set up.

You can generally purchase the whole thing in kit form. Either that or get with whichever brake manufacturer you intend on going with and get them to recomend a spindle to you.

Sounds like fun. Go with what Tony said and you'll be fine. You may want to get some drag springs and shocks for the front too with that kind of HP. The springs hold energy and release it upon launch for better weight transfer, and the shocks allow it to happen. How'd you get that much HP out of a SBC, I'd like to know the details of the motor....

im not really sure im buying it from my uncle with 750 it was out of his stock car well from what he says he put the engine on a dyno and the dyno only went to 750 and he maxed that out and im lowering the compression to like 9:1 and throwing a 8-71 on there so unless hes lying thats just a rough estimate of what it will have
