front swap

Does any one know if the front suspension of a 53 chevy car will fitt the frame rails of a 50 chevy truck 1/2 ton. I am considering this if it does not require to much fabricating. Welding would not be a problem for me. Would the 53 car suspension be something one could bolt on or? Would i have to change the steering column or would the truck steering be ok, i know the brakes would have to be worked out and so forth i just want to get a feel for this.

Sorry i dont have much experience in these things. If anyone knows of a good book on how to build useing variouse opptions I would be happy with that also. I bought the how to restore your chevrolet pickup book but i need more info if im going to make something happen.

Thank you in advance for any help.

IMHO, there would be no advantage in using an out dated front suspension like that from the '53.

A more popular swap has been the F body or aftermarket clips. Info is readily available on this whole subject, you'll need to research it further.
