what is the best fit for a 31 5 window coupe/bench seat? it has corvette buckets but there to low for me

Some guys have used a middle seat out of a van. Take your tape to the pick-a-part and see if one of those may work..If your seats are too low and otherwise ok then you can make some risers to go under the seat rails to bring them up to a more comfortable height..

I'm using some upholstered Barrett bomber seats in my '31 roadster. I raised them with a framework and some adjuster so they fit, height wise just right for me at 6'4". Not cheap by the time you get them plus add the adjusters and frame, but work which the Glide Engineering pair didn't as they were TOO high.

I ended up by having to raise them a bit more with the 1" oak pieces you see so I could get my knees straighter. Painted and installed, work fine - for me

in a bucket the middle seat from the chry mini van fits very good... this might be an option for ya..

if the corvette seats work well for you
just build a pedestal to raise them up.

i raised the seats in my truk 6'' to gain much needed leg room

they sit low and are hard,just picking someone brain thats been there

You could raise them, and when you redo them have more padding put in. You have all the holes drilled and everything, risers are not that hard to make, just have them tilted back a little to get the seat right or just keep putting them in and adjusting until you get a feel you like, don't worry about the hardness, that will be taken care of when they are recovered.

There's only so much you can do when adding foam to a Corvette seat. You'd have to have the seat covers remade, including changing the listings to provide more depth which would not be cheap. Corvette seats are not that great anyway, especially older ones. These seats had an inch of foam added to them, and there wasn't room to do more. They're still not very comfortable.

Thanks, Bob. Those seats are out of my wife's '77 Corvette, and I guarantee they're just not comfortable. I would hate to drive more than 100 miles sitting on them. But.....I freely admit I'm not a Corvette fan.

I have a bench seat and I need buckets for 31 Ford 5 window coupe, I am 6'2" 254 lbs and I need lower bucket seats, what colour are your vette buckets? my bench seat is red and new? If you still have them and they are red or black, where are you located?
