fuel cell issue

I have an aluminum fuel tank mounted on the bed of my truck. On the roll over valve I put a -8 an 120 degree fitting and -8 an line to a bulk head fitting in my bed. When I brake and the tank is 1/2 full or more fuel spills out thru the roll over valve. Is there a -8 an female to a -8 male one way check valve I should be using or is my installation wrong. Can anyone direct me?????

Thanks in advance

Do you have a loop in the line between roll over valve and bulkhead?

Agreed you need a loop. I would also suggest putting a small filter on the vent line to keep dirt out of the tank/cell. The "tip over" valve is just that, it only works when it's "tipped over". It's just a metal ball that will fall into a pocket when tipped over and that is going to stop/limit the flow of fuel in a crash/rollover. It is a basic check valve. It will not stop gas from spilling in the conditions you explain. The loop will stop your issue as long as the loop is above the top of the fuel level. I think I have pictures, if you need them check here http://community.webshots.com/user/c...host=community (both he Camaro and the Skylark has them).

Thanks guys, because the cell is exposed I really didn't like the way that looked so what I ended up doing is installing a Russel one way fuel check valve ($75), right off the roll over valve then my 120 degree fitting then to the bulk head fitting. The call was strictly esthetic's and fuel conservation. Funny that comes from some one that runs a sbc 383 with a 4:88 detroit locker. It's all about fun

Thanks again guys someday I'm going to figure out how to get pictures of my truck from my email to this site.
