fuel delivery problem
I searched the forum for this but i couldnt find anything that would help me, probably because its a newbie question but here it goes...
1980 transam, 383 sbc, holley red electric fuel pump
Key in on position i can hear the pump running but im not getting any fuel pressure at my gauge. first thing i did was take the fuel line off at the carb and no fuel came out. so i thought, maybe its low on gas? it did only have 1/8 of a tank so i but 4 or 5 gallons in but no change.
next i figured id test the pump to be sure it moves gas. i stuck the 'in' end in a can of gas and the other end in it as well and it did push fuel.
my tank has 3 lines coming out of it, a 3/8 line (vapor) on the driver side, a 3/8 line on the passenger, and a 1/4 line on the passenger side. i tried hooking hte fuel pump up to the 3/8 AND the 1/4 line on the driver side (just to make sure i didnt make a mistake) and got no pressure either way.
My fuel filter is in the correct direction and my pump is under the tank about a foot away. please help!
