fuel delivery problem has me stumped

I turn the key and the motor just cranks unless I dump gas in the carb of my 78 Cutlass Brougham(260 V8), then it will start, and if I dont let it stall for a few minutes it will run fine all day, and even restart the next day without any problem. If it sits for more than a few days I again have to dump gas in the carb to get it going again. I changed the fuel pump, the fuel filter, and I tried loosening and tightening the gas cap, and I checked that the lines in the engine compartment aren't kinked. If anyone has any ideas on where I would look next I would greatly appreciate it!

after 2 days, engine off, stick your head over the carb and manually work the carb linkage

you should be able to see the primer pump "squirt" gas like a water pistol into each primary every time you release and re-open the linkage if your carb is working correctly

My guess the choke doesn't work correctly.

For sure in the carb. Carb draining out internally, accelerator pump not working at all, choke out of adjustment.

Thanks for the advice, I already started looking for a new carb. (if I rebuilt mine myself it would probably never work again!)
