fuel filter

i just purchased a clear fuel filter and have now noticed something strange i think. after i turn off the car, i notice air bubles in the filter as the fuel emtys out. cant see any fuel on the ground, is this normal, or should i find out were this air is coming from??

should the fuel stay in the filter??

Quite often the gas slowly drains back through the pump into the tank. Not a problem most times. Thats why I don't like glass or plastic filters, I don't like seeing the filter only 1/4 full all the time! even though it always runs fine. LOL

Same here Jmark, I do not like any glass, plastic, or rubber on the pressure side of the pump.

my dad told me never to get a glass filter because they leak, i was like, bahh tonns of people use them, i dont think they leak, then i saw it with my own 2 eyes. 64 impala pulls into my dads shop, hmmm do you smell gas, sure enought the glass filter was leaking all over the hot engine.

There was a recall on the small tubular glass filters a few years ago due to leakage. I use the Wix 33003 (for 3/8" lines) clear plastic filter just before the carb. I like being able to see the crap that builds up, plus I had a metal one (AC GF-61P) that rusted through at the bottom & sprayed gas everywhere.
