Fuel filter element change question
I noticed a few threads on fuel elements but they did not cover the very simple question I have. I've changed a few in line filters in past. I have a canister style now, setup between tank and pump. I was wondering how much fuel can I expect to spill out when I remove canister? I just don't wanna make a mess cuz I'm in rented parking spot.
It's a Mallory series 140 fuel filter and I am replacing with a Mallory series 3141 paper filter (225 GPH w/ 5 micron element). I read in other posts that I should be looking for a metal element instead. Can anyone recommend a better element that will fit my setup?

If you don't pinch the Hose shut you could get quite a lot of fuel Siphoning from the Tank.
I'm not sure if Mallory makes a metal mesh filter for that type. Have to check with them.
