Fuel Gauge

1985 GMC 1 gas tank.
(Fuel needle) when tank is full, needle moves
to the extreme right. Went almost empty the
needle movies towards the full mark.

Do you think it might be the sending unit
In gas tank?

sounds like you might have it figured out...... some times it might be a loose connection on the sending unit..... or if the wiring is good you might be able to pull the sending unit and bend the float rod (if it has one) to re-calibrate it

Pull the wire off the sending unit With the wire off and the key on it should read full. Ground the wire and with the key on it should read empty. If it does this you have a bad sending unit If it dosn't do this you have a bad gauge or a wiring problem
