Red face fuel injected 454

i want to replace my stock 350 with a f.i 454 i was wondering if i could dicard the fuel injection and just use it as a carburated engine.has anyone out here tryed this or should i just use the f. i.

I personally would keep the FI on the big Gas Guzzler. No mention of the 350. Is/was it FI also? If so, you will need the computer from the 454 at least. I think the wiring would be the same if they are close in years. If your truck is not fuel injected, you can get Modified wiring harness that has only the essentials to run the FI. Techies say FI (not Throttle body injection) will give you 6mpg ove a well tuned carbed engine. Probably not that good on a 454, but will definitely be better, not to down play an improved horepower increase, better cold starting etc, etc.

the 350 is carbed the only reason i thought that i should go back to carb is that i would get a better shot of the line??{it's going in a chevy monza} thanks for the reply.
