? fuel line restriction

Howdy! Sorry about the double post, but I was hopeing for some quick opinions before I make a mistake. I am pluming my fuel lines today with 5/16" hard line all the way up to the stock pump. There is a large canister style filter as near to the tank as I can get it. I would like to install a fuel shut off valve in line ahead of the filter. The only valve I have found is a compression fitting style that has a very small pass through port (1/16"?). The question is... Is this built in restriction going to give me problems drawing fuel?

shutoff valve

1 ea 1/4 inch ball valve
2 ea. 5/16 compression /treaded fittings
2 ea. 5/16 x 1/4 bushings (to adapt the fittings to the valve)

Just a thought. Russ

I took the KISS approach and added a short section of rubber fuel line between the tank and filter. When it comes time to service the filter I'll just clamp it off. But... thanks for your reply!
