Fuel line size question

Hi all.
What is the typical fuel line size for a V8? My 52 Cadillac has a soft copper line, which I don't think is the usual material, that I'm going to replace.
The copper looks to be about 3/8", but I'm not sure if that is the original size.
Thanks,
Eric

3/8" steel (brake line) or aluminum are fine for all but the wildest engine.
