fuel pump

hi there hotroders, how do i tell if my electric fuel pump is shot ??? 1987 chevy blazer fs, 350 600 holley carb. now it runs on ether but when ether burns it stalls. makes no hum noise nothing. got any idea's. thanks guys oldfart

I'd want to be sure that the pump is getting a full 12v and that it is grounded.

If that doesn't help, some pumps (aftermarket) are rebuildable, kits are available for them.

What pump do you have and has it been in service long or is it a recent addition?
