You'll have to check the fuel pressure. My dad has a 98 GMC and one day it wouldn't start. I checked the fuel pressure and found it 3 psi below it's recommended fuel pressure so as you see, even if the pump is providing pressure, if the pressure isn't up to factory measure it won't start. Hard to believe 3 psi below would have a effect on it, but it does. We played around with it by replacing the filter and the pressure came up another 1 psi, which was enough to make the truck idle, but the second the throttle was pressed it would go dead. We replaced the fuel pump and it's ran fine since and that's been 4 plus years ago.

I would have a complete scan done on the engine. 1995 Is OBD1 every shop doesn't have a scanner for pre-1995 computers. The reason I say this you could have codes stored and you think nothing is wrong. Here is just a sample of the codes your truck's computer reads. OBD-1 Diagnostic Trouble Codes. Check out this forum. They are talking about the same problems you have. Info: "Truck won't start" checking spark and fuel pressure - ChevyTalk --The Social Network for Chevy Fans
