No, there are different size line possibilities depending on the application and a lot have a smaller line on the output side. i have seen several different configurations over the years. A lot of pumps have fittings that can be changed but I have also seen some that at least one side cant.
Must I use an 3/8" line to 1/4" npt fuel line pump inlet adapter ? My 62 Chevrolet 327 CI / 300 HP has a 3/8" fuel line yet it uses the same fuel pump as a 62Chevy with a 283 CI or a 250 HP / 327 CI engine that is equipped with a 5/16" fuel line. Those fuel pumps have 1/4" npt inlets and outlets.
As far as I can determine, the only difference in AC Delco 1957 - 1962 Chevy 283, 327 and 409 fuel pumps is the clocking of the inlet and outlet. They are all rated at 5.5 psi to 6.0 psi output pressure.
