fuel pump/leaning/exhaust backfire

Ok this started 2 days ago. I went to start the car and upon start up it started to backfire out of the exhaust. As it warmed up the backfiring cleared up for the most part. I drove it to the gas station and got some gas. As I was driving it i noticed what seemed as a loss of power and under heavy acceleration it would backfire out of the exhaust some and blow smoke out of the passenger side exhaust. It seemed to almost be misfiring but wasnt for sure. I came back home and instead of the fuel filter being full i noticed it to not even be 1/4 full. My fuel pressure guage was at 0 for some reason but i twisted it and it jumped back up to like 5psi. It was originally set at 7psi. I increased it back to 7psi and it still ran the same way. The filter was full this time around though so i dont really understand that. Well then , the car ran out of gas. So now im having to find a way to prime the pump to get gas flowing again. But after i do this, what could be my problem?

Also forgot to mention that i pulled number 2 and number 4 plugs. Number 2 seemed about average but number 4 was extremely wet and black almost like the plug wasn't firing. The wire didnt seem to be burnt though. Any ideas?
