Fuel Pump Question
Hey guys just need some educated input here. I'm going with an electric fuel pump for my carbeurated 383 SBC. I have a choice between a low pressure pump (6-8psi) that does not require a regulator or a higher pressure (14psi) pump that comes with the regulator included. They are the same price the low pressure one is made by Carter and the regulated one is made by Holley. My question is can I adjust the pressure on the regulated one if I go this route?? They say it is preset at 14psi which is too much and will overcome the float in the floatbowl. I think the pressure is adjustable but before buying it I just wanted to make sure.
Thanks guys, Keith

You must be referring to the Holley Blue pump? You won't be able to adjust the output pressure of the pump itself but the regulator is adjustable. I've got one on my Blazer that I've used for about five years now and since I got the fuel pressure dialed in I've never had any problems.

Yes I am referring to the Holley blue pump
Okay as long as I can drop that 14psi through the regulator than I am going to go this route. Thanks for your reply!! Keith. |
