install the sender from the gauge kit, or snap a picture of what you are trying to describe and post it. I think that the tank has a fuel pump there and some of the plug is wired for that . No matter those Dolphin gauges are sender specific to give accurate readings, and will need there sender in there.

The other option you have is to ohm out the senders. GM is 90 ohms, that will be in the tank. Read the Dolphin sender if it is the same then the tank one will work just fine.

This is the plastic tank? The fuel level sender on these is not standard 90ohm gm. Its 240 full 33 empty. Autometer has a universal sending unit or a programmable gauge.

Plastic tanks if I am reading you correct can be ordered either way ford or gm senders installed.

He already has Dolphin gauges so why would he want to change that for autometer?

I'm saying the stock tank for 1999-2002 f-bodies is plastic and has an oddball full and empty resistance for the fuel sender. His gauges are likely are not setup for them. Farmall did you happen to swap the trans am's ls1 into your truck? Is that why you are using this tank?

Regardless your going to have to talk to dolphin and find out what ohm your fuel gauge works in and see I they can match your fuel sender.
