Fuel tank sender 53 chevy

What is the ohm rating of a fuel tank sender from a 53 pick up Chevrolet.
Its not in the manual.

Like to order some new gauges for the dash.

I mean something like 0-empty and 90 - full.

Thanks
Wander.

Hi Wander,
Take the sending unit out & hook a ohm meter
to it, then slowly move the float up & down & you'll
have your answer.

Hi Rich

I know how that part works, but this was al that was in the fuel tank.
So I got nothing to measure.

The moving parts are all gone?

GM 1964 and earlier sending units were 0 ohms-empty, 30 ohms-full. For both 6 and 12 volt systems.
