It's been years since I had to jump the regulator to make the alternator charge. :embarrass
Can't remember what to jump
I think it was terminal 1 and 3 on the regulator.. Is that correct???
I'm working on a 59 ford/meteor with a 70s drive train (pos , neg and field wires are used the sta terminal is not used)(the regulator is a four wire type).
I want to check the full output and also hook up a switch to full field when I need full output at low idle. ;) Do I ground, feed, or open the field wire connection
Thanks :pimp:

Jump the batt or "A" terminal on the alternator to the field terminal to full field it. Also at the plug for the regulator it can be done ,jump the A terminal to the F terminal. It can be done either way.
It is the same as putting 12 v from the battery to the field terminal
