I'm installing a Transgo full manual kit in my TH350 and it recommends hooking up the vacuum modulator to lower line pressure when not at WOT. The tech guys at Transgo said if I don't do this it will be running at over 200 line pressure and my transmission will not last a year. I also talked to Turbo Action and their pro street valve bodies don't require the modulator hooked up...do they control line pressure in some other way or does it just leave line pressure at full blast all the time. I would like the shift to be as aggressive as possible but not necessarily at the expense of my transmission.

I'm also running a blower and that's why I don't want to deal with hooking up the modulator although the TG tech guy said the tranny wouldn't last very long...is this true? I seem to remember using a full manual TCI on my mopar and the transmission lasted for years. When I talked to Turbo Action today they didn't seem to think there would be a problem running high line pressure. I think the TG folks are more oriented to regular passenger cars not hairy chested mens muscle cars. My car is a beast and don't really care about civilized gear shifts. Anyway, I think I might just toss the TG kit and get a real VB from TCI or who ever. However if I can get the TG kit to shift hard and fast like the aftermarket guys I might consider keeping it. Any thoughts?

So you recommend only one check ball near the modulator valve...TG recommended using them all when I asked...I wonder why? What do the other check balls do...tone down the shifts?
Crosley, I'm looking at the diagram of where the checkballs are located for the kit and I'm seeing 4 locations specified...2 checkballs are located real close to the intermediate servo and 2 that are further away towards the tail shaft. You mentioned to only install the one closest to the modulator valve...which one are we talking about exactly?
